Hazel Irene Barker, 87, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2014, at the family residence.
She was the daughter of the late Eula McNutt Gurley and Jacob Manson Gurley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Miller Scott Barker; son, Dwayne Barker; sisters: Pearl, Neita Lou, Emma Sue, Ruth and Eva Gurley; and her brother, Jacob Robert Gurley.
She was a seamstress most of her life and retired from Prostitch with many years of service. She loved to quilt and attended the Baptist Church most of her life.
Survivors include her daughter, Virginia “Ginger” Millsaps; and her husband, Taylor, of Cleveland; her grandchildren: Steven Scott Millsaps, Daniel Aaron Millsaps, Robert Taylor Millsaps, all of Cleveland; seven more grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and Lonnie Barker of McDonald; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life graveside service and interment will be held today, April 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. from the Jones Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of arrangements.
