Heartstrings, one of Cleveland’s most respected and in-demand ensembles, will headline the Cowboy Gospel Jubilee this Friday evening at 7.

“Heartstrings is one of the best groups ever to play the Jubilee,” said Will Nichols, producer of the free show.

“They have great musicianship, terrific harmony and an amazing penchant for drawing the crowd into the music.”

Comprised of Cindy Oliver, Dale Sneed, Jerry Lance, Angie Black, Jimmy Sneed and Jackie Parris, the group released its first CD in 2011.

While their musical influences span multiple genres, Bluegrass and Southern Gospel gospel music tends to be their main fare.

“They present a variety of quality music,” continued Nichols, “and consistently emanate the love of God. We couldn’t be more excited about their second appearance.”

The Cowboy Gospel Jubilee is held at the Cleveland Cowboy Church in the Dockery Heights community between Blue Springs and Blackburn Roads. It features both Gospel and moral secular music performed in a variety of genres.

Also appearing on the Jubilee will be Southern Gospel singer Amy McAlister, singer-songwriter Elmer Bramlett, “The Wild Man” Danny O’Boyle, Emily Varnell, as well as the Cowboy Church Band and Chorale. Nichols, known as “The Gospel Gun,” is host and announcer.
