Helen Blanche Benton Piersaul, 80, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010.
She was a faithful member of Christian Fellowship Center Outreach Ministry of Cleveland, were she served in many areas of the church.
She retired from Cleveland State Community College. While working there she was a mother to many young adults in college.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Edna Benton; her husband, James Piersaul; two brothers: Curtis Benton and Alvin Benton; and granddaughter, Sonya Brabson.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children: Geneva Arnold of Chattanooga, James Austin (Shirley) Morgan of Georgetown, Carolyn Morgan, Doyle Benton and Gary Benton, all of Cleveland; three stepchildren: Ricky Piersaul of North Carolina, Pamela Upton of Sweetwater, and Carlos Piersaul of Athens; sister, Lola Benton of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Erskin (Regina) Piersaul of Cleveland; sisters-in-law; Willie Lee (Charles) Parks, and Lonnie Piersaul; special nieces: Patricia Lattimore, and Virginia Goodine, both of Cleveland; three adopted grandchildren: DaShaun Cureton and Calvin ‘CC’ Ivery, both of South Carolina, and Tiffany Wood of Cleveland; 15 grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; special friends: Evelyn Davis, Hazel Ramsey and Carolyn Young, all of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends .
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Robinson and Pastor Timothy Purifory officiating. Pastor Joel David Rudolph of Patterson, N.J., will be the eulogist.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow at Burchette’s Chapel Cemetery in Big Spring, in Meigs County.
Visitation by friends will begin after noon at M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home.
