Hogle is a junior mathematics major from Marietta, Ga., and he plans to pursue a career in finance.
The Crosby Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dr. Henry Crosby, a close friend of President Conn and his wife, Darlia. Faculty members nominate a young man entering his junior year for the scholarship. The award recipient is then chosen from the nominations by a scholarship committee.
“I'm very grateful for being given this award,” said Hogle. “I definitely did not expect to be chosen, and I'm proud to be able to represent my department.”
Hogle was nominated by associate professor of Mathematics Dr. Caroline Maher-Boulis.
“When I first met Seth as my advisee, I was able to immediately recognize that there was more to him than his maturity and seriousness,” said Maher-Boulis. “He is a hard-working, deserving student who knows what he wants to do and is determined to do it. I was thrilled to hear that he was chosen for the scholarship.”
