He was born in Dayton, Ohio, and grew up in Cleveland. He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and a former member of Unity United Methodist Church in Cleveland. During his lifetime, he worked at hospitals in Cleveland, Asheville, N.C., and Myrtle Beach, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Hugh Lancaster Seals and Lucille Horner (Moses) Seals; three brothers: Clyde Moses, James Moses, and Clarence Ray Seals; and two sisters: Wilma Seals Dalton and Winnie Seals Young.
He is survived by his wife: Cheryl Fowler Seals of Loris; one brother, Joe Moses and wife, Shirley, of Brook Park, Ohio; sister, Linda Seals Lackey of Harrison; two stepsons: Casey Spivey and Kelly Spivey and wife, Lynn, of Loris; four stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Fowler-Hilbourn Cemetery in Tabor City, N.C.
Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City, N.C., was in charge of arrangements.
