He was the son of the late Callie and Garland Harris. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda June Harris; sister, Cynthia McKnight; and his brothers: Daughford and T.J. Harris.
He was a logger most of his life and also had 14 years of service with Cooke’s Manufacturing. He enjoyed working on cars and he attended the Baptist church.
Survivors include his daughters: Connie Louise Ferguson and her husband, Tommy, of Sweetwater, Linda Diane Rinks and her husband, Barry, of Charleston and Callie E. Harris of Cleveland; sons: Denny Harris and his wife, Stacy, of Delano, Hugh Victor Harris Jr. of Cleveland and James Michael Harris and his wife, Erica, of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, Wendell Harris and his wife, Martha, of Englewood; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Sonny Ledford officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Nathan Harris, Jeremy Walker, Travis Howard, Tommy Ferguson, William Garland Walker and William Morrow serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
