Walker Valley High School’s Mustang Band will host an auction fundraiser Saturday, beginning at 5 p.m. in the school gym. The evening will begin with a silent auction, and a live auction will follow. These funds aid in purchasing instruments, music and other necessary equipment to ensure all band students have a chance to excel in the program. Some items up for bid include a saddle, fishing rod, antiques, gift baskets for all ages and gift certificates for services from hair salons to automotive.

The Polk County Retired Teachers Association will meet Thursday at noon at First Baptist Church for the regular quarterly luncheon meeting. School Superintendent James Jones will be guest speaker. President Betty Dunn urges all members to be present to hear updates on important impending legislation concerning TRTA/PCRTA.

Stories will be presented Sunday, beginning at 2 p.m., at the Cleveland Public Library in the Cleveland Bradley Community Room. Cleveland Storytelling Guild members Vicki Hardesty and Pete Vanderpool plan to share an eclectic blend of stories in this informal gathering.
