Local authorities are asking anyone with information on Sunday’s Vest Grocery robbery to contact the Cleveland Police Department.

Witnesses described the suspect as either a light-skinned African-American or Hispanic male, approximately 6- to 6-feet-2 inches tall.

The suspect entered Vest Grocery on Gaut Street, opened the cash register and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot, reports said. An employee who was in the back of the store cleaning gave chase to the culprit.

According to the employee, the suspect dropped a knife as he ran away. The knife was not displayed during the robbery.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect and/or crime can contact Detective Gibbs of the Criminal Investigations Division at the CPD 423-559-3393.
