James Allen Green, 50, a resident of Cleveland, left this earth to join his Heavenly Father on May 10, 2012.

He was born Nov, 30, 1961, in McMinn County and raised in Benton. He was a 1981 graduate of Polk County High School, and was an employee of Petyon’s Southeastern for 28 years as a maintenance mechanic.

He was a true believer of God and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, antique cars, Westerns and sports.

He was an avid fan of Alabama football. He loved his wife, children and especially his grandchildren who called him “Papaw” and were the twinkle in his eyes.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 27 years, Victoria Green; his son, Joshua Green; daughter, Jasmyne, and David Patton, of Cleveland; grandchildren, Hailey, Dylan, Colton, Nathan Green and Jamison Patton, all of Cleveland; mother-in-law, Edith Davis, whom he claimed was the best cook in the world; sister-in-law, Sonya Case, both of Cleveland; special nephews, Jonathan (Samantha) Case of Niota and Christopher Case of Cleveland. Also surviving are his brothers, Charles (Joyce) Green, Madisonville, and Leon Farmer, Etowah; sisters, Agnes (Ray) Tallant, Benton, Thelma (Gene) Padgett, Chatsworth, Ga., Teresa Jones, Florida, Freida (Jasper) Watson, Loudon; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mikel Peak, Johnny Duggan and Jim Kimsey.

Funeral will be held Monday, May 14, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Scottie Martin officiating.

Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jonathan Case, Christopher Case, John Case, Mikel Peak, Johnny Duggan and Jim Kimsey serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dylan Green, Colton Green, Nathan Green, Jamison Patton and Dalton Case.
