James Douglas “Poppadaddy” Duncan, 90, of Cleveland passed away at his residence on Thursday night, Dec. 13, 2012.
He was born in Nashville April 5, 1922, a son of the late Delma and Donis Duncan.
He was of the Baptist faith and had moved to make Cleveland his home approximately six years ago from Bartow, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lehning Duncan; three sisters: Ruth Chitwood, Maxine Earps, and Louise Duncan; and one brother, Forrest Duncan.
“Poppadaddy” leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters: Donis Jacobson (Ted) of Fancy Gap, Va., and Lind Rothwell of Akron, Ohio; granddaughter and caregivers Hollie and Philip Strickland; four additional grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
The family will hold a private memorial and interment at a later date.
