James Lewis Watson, 89, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 14, 2013, in a local health care facility.

He was the son of the late Dora Locke Watson and James W. Watson. His sisters: Lena Freeman, Nellie Foster, Ruth Wheeler and Clyde Watson also preceded him in death.

He was a WWII Army Veteran having served with the Military Police. He was retired from General Motors in Detroit, Mich. as a Production Foreman with over 33 years of service. He was very creative and he loved music and working on construction projects. He was a member of the Shrine Club in Detroit and he attended the Baptist church.

Survivors include his wife, Janice A. Watson of Cleveland; his daughter, Linda DorLet and her husband, Gary, of Berkley, Mich.; his grandchildren: David, Mike, Deanna and Steven Hendricks; his stepsons: Stephen B. Cash and his wife, Jenifer L. Cash, of Cleveland and Wade C. Cash and his wife, Holly, of Chatsworth, Ga.; his stepgrandchildren: Dalton, DeLanei, Gabriyel, Cameron and Cole Cash; his sister, Lois Starnes of Cleveland; his special friends: Paul Officer of Cleveland and Leonard Norfleet of Taylor, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted this evening, Dec. 17, 2013, at 6 from the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Minister Jerry Clements officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6 tonight just before the services the funeral home, who has charge of arrangements.
