He was the son of the late Andy S. and Ollie Stamey Rymer. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Misty Rymer Thompson; mother-in-law, Billie Hysinger; and a brother-in-law, Doyle Leamons.
He was a member of Unity Church of God and a former member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. He was a former employee with A and C Vending with 23 years of service. He was also a former employee with Medlife Pharmacy and Glaze Supply.
He was a loving husband, father and great provider to his family. He was a good friend to all, everywhere he went he met many friends, never meeting a stranger. He would always share his love of Jesus and of the humor of Andy Griffith.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Rymer; son, Shane Rymer; grandchildren: Kaleb and Cameron Thompson; sister, Mary Lemons; brothers: Andy M. “Mickey” Rymer and his wife, Brenda F., twin brother, Larry Rymer; a special friend and caregiver, Brian Faulkenberry; father and mother-in-law, Roy and Virginia Hysinger; brothers-in-law: Dennis Hysinger and his wife, Faye, Ken Ingram and his wife, Susie, and John Ingram and his wife, Dorene, all of Cleveland; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, plus his special companions: Bear, Salem and Bela.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. Grady Simpson, G.T. Shell, Charles Singer and David Rose, as well as evangelist Andy M. Rymer, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Kaleb Thompson, Cameron Thompson, Tony Moore, Robbie Cross, Jay Mullins and Doug Simpson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Smith, Randy Byers, Donnie Rose, Bill Fox and Tyler Keith.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
