He was a native of Athens, having been born July 17, 1946, and was a son of the late Paul and Beulah Derrick.
He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; two children: Misty Martin and Jeremy Derrick; four grandchildren; four siblings; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
He requested no formal service or visitation; however, his remains will be interred in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
