Jewell Mae Blevins Womac, 86, of the Sanford Community, near Riceville, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 30, 2011, at her residence.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Frank Wesley and Winona Hutsell Blevins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Womac Jr., on Jan. 15, 2007; and a brother, George Argile Blevins.

She was an active participant of Sanford Baptist Church and a past member of Spring Creek United Methodist Church.

She retired from American Uniform and was for many years the manager of the Riceville Elementary School cafeteria.

Survivors include her five sons and daughters-in-law: Tom and Sandy Womac of Charleston, Bill and Judy Womac of Riceville, Curtis and Helen Womac of Riceville, Dan and Debbie Penney Womac of Calhoun, Victor and Joyce Womac of Calhoun; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Evelyn and Steve Woody of Calhoun; one daughter-in-law, Wanda Womac of Riceville; granddaughters and spouses: Remonda and Frank Fox and Rebecca and Kevin McInturff; grandsons and spouses: Ron and Freida Womac, Jeff and Leslie Womac, Chase Woody, Kevin Womac, Joe and Jonie Womac, David and Monica Womac and Carlos Womac; great-grandchildren: Heather Jones, Dana Womac, Paige Jenkins, Alex Womac, Bailey and Braden Womac, Courtney Guffey, Ashlyn, Emma and Makenna Woody, Savannah Goforth, Tyler Womac, Betsy, Molly and Callie McInturff, Camden and Carter Womac; five sisters and four brothers-in-law: Betty Weir of Athens, Bonnie and Charles Long of Chattanooga, Lucille and Donald Deakin of Cleveland, Louise and Ruly Smith of Riceville, Loretta and Bobby Clark of Athens; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul and Shelby Blevins of Deland, Fla., Arlie and Patsy Blevins of Athens, Charles and Frances Blevins of Riceville, Fred and Delores Blevins of Athens; sister-in-law, Jean Blevins of Riceville; several nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Carl and Veronica King

A remembrance of life service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2011, at Sanford Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Leamon and Bill Womac officiating.

Interment will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Lower Spring Creek United Methodist Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Ron Womac, Jeff Womac, Chase Woody, Kevin Womac, Joe Womac, David Womac, Alex Womac, Carlos Womac and Kevin McInturff.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
