Jimmie Max Brown, 77, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday morning, June 11, 2014.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1936, in Bradley County as son of the late Paul Anderson Brown and Mayme Louella Ruth Brown.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was an agent for Allstate Insurance for more than 30 years. After retiring from Allstate he obtained his realtors license. The last several years of his life were spent in real estate. In his earlier years, he coached youth football here in Bradley County. He served many years as a volunteer for the Cleveland Lions Club.
In addition to his father and mother, he is preceded in death by one brother, Billy Brown.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Lorene Benton Brown; daughter, Kim Brown Hawes; one sister, Debbie Blankenship; and two sisters-in-law: Barbara Brock and her husband, Calvin, and Elsie Kirksey.
A celebration of his life is planned for tonight, June 13, 2014, at 7:30 at First Baptist Church, 1275 Stuart Road, in Cleveland with the Rev. Tom Wickes officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 until the 7:30 service time.
Interment and committal service will take place on Saturday morning, June 14, 2014, at 11 in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with George Gray, Bill Creech, Benny Kirksey, Tom Hawes, Jason Reuter, Calvin Brock and Scott Creech serving as pallbearers. The Cleveland Lions Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The funeral procession will leave Companion Funeral Home at 10:30 on Saturday morning.
The family would like to extend appreciation to the nurses and CNAs of Life Care Center of Cleveland and Hospice of Chattanooga for the wonderful care given to Jimmie. Your kindness was such a blessing to Jimmie and the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Lions Club, P.O. Box 1521, Cleveland, TN 37364. These donations will be used to purchase vision screening equipment.
