Joe Cross, 74, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 15, 2012, in a local hospital.
He was the son of the late Mary Lou Cronan Cross and Perry Cross.
He loved to sing and when he was younger he and his sisters would sing together. He traveled and sang with his family, the Cross Family, and they sang at many churches and for many funerals.
He was retired from Magic Chef with 16 years of service and he loved the outdoors including fishing.
He was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Margie Rogers Cross of Cleveland; his daughter, Robin Powers and her husband, Sam, of Cleveland; his sons: Jerry Cross and his wife, Artie, of Ripley, W.Va., Rick Cross of Chattanooga, and Joel Cross and Mitchell Cross, both of Cleveland; his eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters: Hazel Peters and her husband, Terrell, Edith Cross, and Linda Cottrell and her husband, Ricky, all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted today, Nov. 18, 2012, at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Johnny Underwood officiating.
Interment will follow in the Chilcutt United Methodist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
