John Manuel Morrison, 58, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, in a local hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father, Burt Morrison; brother, Samuel Reed; his grandparents; and several aunts.
He worked at Maytag, Whirlpool and many years in the enamel plant. He was a well-known roofer and enjoyed fishing and hunting and working in his vegetable garden.
He attended the Baptist and the Church of God.
Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Julian Goodwin and her husband, David, of McDonald; son, William Morrison of Cleveland; grandchildren: Ashton Julian, Michael Julian and Olivia Julian; mother, Emma Haggard of Cleveland; brothers: Robert B. Morrison of Cleveland and Benny Reed of Georgetown; his sisters: Wanda Dale of Sweetwater; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Jimmy Parm officiating.
Interment will follow in Moores Chapel Cemetery with Billy Morrison, Patrick Morrison, Charles Dale, Matthew Tipton, David Howard and Jeff Withrow serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
