John M. Shealy, (aka “The Fonz”), 54, of Cleveland, passed away early Tuesday morning, Feb. 26, 2013.
He was the youngest of three children of Leon H. Shealy and Louise B. Shealy. He was the father of four girls. He was a graduate of UTC and was employed with the city of Chattanooga as an engineer. He was an elder at First Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed working on anything mechanical and was an avid amateur wrestling fan, along with riding dirt bikes.
He is survived by his children: Ann and husband, Scott Schatzman; (two grandsons: Jacob and Samuel), all of St. Louis; Michelle, Hailey and Natalie Shealy, all of Cleveland; brother, Herb Shealy of Cleveland; sister, Cynthia and husband, David Clarke, of Winter Haven, Fla.; four nieces: Mallory Shealy of Cleveland, Hannah and Rachel Clarke, both of Winter Haven and Leslie Reed of Statesboro, Ga.; and one nephew, Corey Shealy of Dothan, Ala.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Seaton and Dewayne Shriver officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Roger White, Dale Ledford, Robb Ray, David Clarke, Alan Paasche, Tom Cooke and Jim Shealy serving as pallbearers.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 this evening at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
