Johnnie D. Corbin, 76, of Georgetown, passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 15, 2012, in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was the son of the late Zona Cawood Corbin and Austin He was also preceded in death by sister, Angie O’Daniel; and brothers: Paul Corbin and Gary Corbin.
He was a well-known electrician and had worked with electricity most of his life. He also was retired from Maytag with 43 years of service.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ann Corbin of Georgetown; his daughter, Penny Godfrey of Ooltewah; his son, Randy Corbin and his wife, Christie of Georgetown; his grandchildren: Jason Godfrey and his wife Brandi, Erin Godfrey, Michelle Brewer and her husband Shane and Makayla Phillips; his great-grandchildren: Skyler Godfrey, Jasmine Brewer and Ava Godfrey; sisters: Brenda Kyle and her husband, Herdis, and Glenda Adams, all of Georgetown, and Elizabeth Mullins of Cumming, Ga.; his brother, Verlyn Corbin and his wife, Bonnie; his sister-in-law, Wilma Corbin, all of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at 2 p.m. from the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Mark Smith and Minister Herdis Kyle officiating.
Interment will follow in the Stanfield Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Mantooth, Raymond Baker, Steve Rapier, Willie Dills, Don McClanahan and Les Fansler serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Ward and Bill McClure.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p. m. today at the funeral home.
