She was born in Philadelphia, Tenn., on April 18, 1953, a daughter of the late Sanford and Sarah Ingram.
Since approximately 1995, she had called the McDonald and Ooltewah areas home. She was of the Methodist faith. She worked and retired from the Hardwick Clothes Company. She had several hobbies and interest such as flowers, sewing, etc., but could be best described as a person who “loved her family.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Curtis Luther Strickland; and three sisters: Brenda Sue Stephens, Mary Elizabeth Goforth and Betty Jean Hackler.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of six years, Ken Ritchie; one daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Tony DeLay; and one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Strickland and Emily, all of McDonald; one stepson, Kenn Ritchie of McDonald; five grandchildren: Kaity Strickland, Broady Baliles, Page Baliles, Abby DeLay and Tony DeLay Jr.; and several other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church, 216 Corinth Church Road in McDonald with the Rev. Glenn Mosley and the Rev. Mark Barber officiating.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Paint Rock.
The family will receive friends at Corinth Baptist Church, tonight, from 5 until 8, and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
