Karl R. Steward, 56, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He was born on March 13, 1957, in Cleveland, a son of the late James J. and Wanda B. Steward.
He graduated from Cleveland High School. He was employed by Bowater for more than 30 years.
He was a huge fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and Atlanta Braves. However his most enduring quality was his “Heart of Gold.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Jean Steward.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Robbie J Steward; two sons: Brock Steward and Brent Steward and wife, Lauren; grandson, Brady George Henry Steward, granddaughter, McKaylee Rae Steward; brother, Kenneth Steward and wife, Sue; and several extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Stuart Park Baptist Church, 850 17th St., Cleveland.
The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.
Pallbearers will include Dustin Shaver, Daniel Hesson, Jody Helms, Roger White and Craig Moore.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Karl’s memory.
