Kathy Locke
Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Locke is making her first appearance on the free Opry-style show.
“Kathy has been singing in churches since the age of 2,” said Will Nichols, producer of the popular live show. “And, for five years, starting at age 12, she traveled all over the United States singing in churches and music venues with her family.”
Backing up the singer is Dan Locke on guitar, Jon Wakefield on bass, Mark Smith on drums, and Stephanie Headrick singing backup vocals.
“While growing up on the road, Kathy learned to play piano, organ, and drums on her own,” said Nichols. “She also began writing songs, poetry, and short stories at a young age. And, for the past 10 years, she has served as praise and worship leader at a local church.”
Also appearing on the Jubilee is Southern Gospel singer Amy McAlister as well as the Cowboy Church Band and Chorale. In addition, Emily Varnell from Soddy-Daisy will be making a guest appearance. Nichols, known as “The Gospel Gun,” is the announcer and a crowd favorite.
“The Cowboy Jubilee is a come-as-you-are event,” Nichols said. “And is located between Blackburn Road and Blue Springs Road in the Dockery Heights subdivision. A love offering is taken for the headliner.”
