He was born in Lawton, N.D., on Dec. 18, 1939, a son of the late Kenneth and Alice Sandlan.
He was of the Church of God faith. He worked for many years as an electrical technician.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Katrina Blackwell Cogdill; and one brother, Ray Sandlan.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 10 years, Gloria Ferguson Sandlan; three daughters: Diana (Dale) Jobe, Wanda (Donald) Goins and Valerie Sandlan; four sons: Wayne Sandlan, Brian (Shawna) Sandlan, Steven Sandlan, and Shawn Sandlan: three sisters: Lois (Harold) Eastman, Ila Norell, and Carol Sandlan: four brothers: Ronald (Bertina) Sandlan, Kenneth (Sharon) Sandlan, Dennis Sandlan, and Darrel Sandlan, seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Donna Riddle; one stepson, Cory Branch; mother-in-law, Connie “Grandma” Ferguson; special friend and caregiver Melinda Gentry; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at 3 p.m. in the Dixon Chapel of North Cleveland Church of God, 335 11th Street N.E., Cleveland, with the Rev. Larry Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends in the Dixon chapel from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service time on Friday.
