Kenneth McKinney, 75, a lifelong resident of Birchwood, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, in a Nashville hospital.
He was the son of the late James and Willie McKinney. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean McKinney; brothers, Howard and Wayne McKinney; and sisters. Ruth Young and Irene Kennett.
He owned and operated Birchwood Exxon for many years and also took care of McInturf cemetery in Birchwood. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by his son, Terry McKinney of Birchwood; grandsons: Dr. T.J. McKinney of Miami, Brandon McKinney, Cody McKinney and Kyle McKinney, all of Decatur; two brothers, Bill McKinney of Birchwood and Jim McKinney of Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at the North Ocoee St. Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Rayford Edwards officiating.
Interment will be follow in the McInturf cemetery with T.J. McKinney, Brandon McKinney, Cody McKinney, Kyle McKinney, Bo McKinney and Gary McKinney serving as casket bearers.
This family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
