Two associates of the Cleveland Kmart pharmacy have been recognized for outstanding achievement in their profession.

Sandra Godsey has been named 2011 National Technician of the Year for Kmart Pharmacy and Alan Winter was picked as the Pharmacist of the Year for the South division.

Both received their honors during the 2012 Kmart Pharmacy annual meeting at the Sears Holding Corporate Headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Ill.

Godsey, a certified pharmacy technician, was honored by the corporation for receiving more than 50 customer compliments in 2011, due to her positive efforts in service to the customer.

In addition to the national award she also received Technician of the Year for the South division.

She has been employed by Kmart for 10 years, the first two part time, and the last eight as a full-time pharmacy technician at the Cleveland location. She is a 2005 graduate of Bryan College with a bachelor’s degree in business management.

Winter is a graduate of Samford University School of Pharmacy, and has been with Kmart pharmacy for 34 years, first as a pharmacy manager for 21 years, then as an area coordinator for the last 13.

Winter is very involved in his church’s activities, as well as civic endeavors throughout the community. Of the three divisions in the corporation, he was selected from more than 800 pharmacists in the South division.

Peers, colleagues, store management, and store team members nominated the two candidates. The nominees excelled in the areas of customer care, and specifically in the areas of in-store promotions, community promotions, innovative market strategies, and contribution to the profession of pharmacy.
