In their second meeting, the Lady Colts downed Meigs Middle 25-8.

The players worked together as a team and many players contributed in this win. The leading scorer was Hughes with nine. Nipper, Rue and Lombard tossed in four points apiece while Davis contributed three and Gracie Medley finished up with one.

OMS defeated lake Forest 30-12 in the third game with Rue booking five points for the Lady Colts. Davis had numerous steals and jump balls and scored four points with Hughes, Nipper and Gracie Fowler also contributing four points each. Knipp, Mary Humphries, Brittney Dilbeck, Kendall Harris each had two points and Mirana Patel had one.

"I am very excited about this year's team. They are a very talented, great group of girls and willing to work hard and get better every day. They are playing as a team and each member is contributing across the board. It shows in our offense. Our points are spread throughout the team.

“It's easy for an opponent to shut down one girl, but it's hard to stop a number of girls who can put the ball in the basket. We have quick, aggressive guards and strong post players. We still have a lot of work to do and things to improve on, but I feel good about their performance in the preseason tournament," said OMS coach Cayci Smith.

The Lady Colts play again Monday at Lake Forest. Tipoff is at 4:30 p.m. with the boys following at 5:30.
