"We struggled on offense all night and it hurts when you can't get anything to fall in your own gym," said coach Thompson after the much needed win. "The girls did play excellent defense and denied a lot of shots, which paid off in the end."
Carrie Claypoole was the top scorer with 15 points. Acacia Thompson added eight points and nine rebounds, while Abigail Wooden put in seven points and had nine steals. Emily Sexton had six points and Jennifer Corbitt had four points and four rebounds.
The Apostolic boys avenged the ladies loss with a big 89-57 win over the Crusaders.
"Speed was a factor In the loss tonight, wearing us down In the end. Good play tonight but we've got to get better," said coach Larry Davis.
Xavier Jordan had his eighth double-double with 24 points and 20 rebounds.
Chris Reynolds added 10 points and Bo Martin had nine points. Matthew Chambless and Naaman Mowery each had six points, and Matthew Mathis had three points.
