Tennessee Christian Preparatory School played host to the Cleveland Christian Lady Crusaders Tuesday night in volleyball action.

As expected, the game was close from beginning to end. TCPS took game one 25-9. The Lady Crusaders (5-11) stormed back to win the next two games 25-15, 25-21, but dropped the final two games by scores of 25-15 and 15-9.

“Things started to unravel after the third game,” said coach John Mathis. “We haven’t learned how to play with the lead, and finish. I’m proud of their effort and dedication. As a coach, it’s tough to ask for more.”

Acacia Thompson led the Crusaders with three kills, two aces, four digs and two blocks. Emily Sexton had three digs and three aces. Hope Nix contributed four assists and a kill. Savannah Morgan had two digs and a block. Jennifer Corbitt had two blocks, two digs, two kills and three aces. Faith Nix also had two digs.

Cleveland Christian travels to Knoxville Friday for an SCAA tri-match with Knoxville Christian and Knoxville Apostolic.
