Lady Wildcat bats were humming as they drummed their host for 10 hits and 12 runs over five innings to walk away with a 12-1 win.
Jordan Triplett gave another quality start for Polk, going all five innings and allowing a single earned run on five hits while striking out five Loudon batters.
Things started out right for Polk as Danielle Harvey led off the first with a single, Lydia Triplett followed when she reached safely on an error and Sydney Sloan brought them all home with a three RBI bomb.
Harvey got things started in the second when she notched another base hit and Sloan brought her home again with a deep single to right field.
The Lady Redskins tried to mount a comeback in the bottom of the second when a lead-off single turned into an RBI on a sac bunt, but that’s all the team could come away with.
Polk kept up the pressure in the third when J. Triplett reached on a walk and Briana Muller joined the hit-fest with a two run homer to bring the score to 6-1.
The fifth was the breakout inning for the Lady Wildcats, and the nail in Loudon’s coffin.
Caroline Jenkins and J. Triplett both reached safely on back-to-back errors with Jenkins coming around to score on the second miscue.
Muller pegged a double that advanced J. Triplett to third, and Kaitlyn Williams brought them both home with a two run single.
Danielle Harvey notched her third single of the game and was advanced by an L. Triplett sacrifice bunt. Sloan was plunked by Loudon’s pitcher. Lily Cuzzort hit a two RBI double that brought Williams and Harvey home and Sloan scampered home on one last Lady Redskin error.
In total six runs crossed the plate in the top of the fifth on four Lady Wildcat hits and three Loudon errors, ending the game at 12-1.
Polk will be in action again Thursday as the team travels to Meigs County for a District 5-AA game against the Lady Tigers. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30.
