Lady Wildcats succumb to Central

The Lady Wildcats demolished the Chargerettes Tuesday evening in what turned out to be a three-inning softball game.

Polk County was able to score 19 runs in only two innings at bat, going on to defeat McMinn Central 19-3.

Every girl in the Lady Wildcats starting lineup was able to put at least one run on the board during the routing of the visitors.

In the first Polk County got five runs and in the second racked up 14 more runs.

During the bottom of the first Ashlynn Johnson hit a home run, which brought in an additional two runs. Johnson was 2-2 with three RBIs for the night.

Hannah Triplett had three runs and three RBIs and Sydney Sloan had three runs and got a pair of her teammates in.

Lydia Triplett and Kaitlyn Williams both had three runs and each brought one Lady Wildcat home.

Lily Cuzzort and Jordan Triplett managed two runs apiece and also had one RBI.

Felecia Johnson had one run and two RBIs and Emily Bates also had one run and knocked in three.

The winning pitcher was J. Triplett, who pitched all three innings. She allowed five hits and three runs.

The Lady Wildcats will be back in action on Friday for the Lady Raider Classic.
