The bride is the daughter of Jeffery Kevin McCarthy and Margie Rilla Highsmith, both of Waycross, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Norman and Carroll McCarthy, Judy Dixon of Blackshear, Ga., and the late Revis Dixon.
The bridegroom is the son of Thomas Richard “Tom” and Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Leach of Cleveland. He is the grandson of Virginia Leach of Cleveland, the late Wayne Leach and the late William and Ruby Taylor.
The wedding was officiated by the Rev. T.J. Green of Virginia. Nuptial music was provided by Rhonda Mullis, pianist; Jessica Johnson, violinist; and Lauralee Tison; solist. After the couple exchanged vows, Dr. Freddie Smith, pastor at Sweat Memorial Baptist Church, gave them communion.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Sarah Elise McCarthy of Waycross, as maid of honor. Christen Lea Maxwell, also of Waycross, was her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were cousins Jenni Smith of Waresboro, Ga., and Marie Reyes of Atlanta, Ga., sister-in-law Laura Leach of Cleveland and Amanda Howell of Waycross.
Flower girls were two of the bride’s triplet 4-year-old siblings, Bella and Cayla Highsmith, and a cousin of the bride, 4-year-old Olivia McCarthy, all of Waycross. The ring bearer was Eli Highsmith, the third triplet sibling of the bride.
The bridegroom’s best friend, Justin Ownby of Cleveland, served him as best man. Groomsmen were Tanner Hysinger, Chris Shope, Brandon Varnell and Jon Wilson, all of Cleveland, and Chris Black of Athens, Tenn. Ushers were the bride’s cousins, Alex McCarthy and Kevin McCarthy, both of Athens, Ga.
The parents of the bride gave the reception at the church. Bonita Moye and Suzi Tison of Waycross served as wedding directors. Martha McClain served as the caterer for the reception. Ashley and Brenna Thomas of Waresboro and their sons, Joshua and Caleb, served as program attendants, along with Maggie Smith of Waycross.
After the wedding trip given by the bridegrooms’ parents to St. Augustine, Fla., the couple is at home in Cleveland.
