The CMA credential is the advanced professional certification for accounting professionals administered by the Institution of Management Accountants (IMA). Successful completion of the exam demonstrates command of the critical accounting and financial management skills for today’s dynamic businesses.
“The purpose for this class is to provide onsite, live instruction for students who need hands-on discipline to be successful in passing the CMA exam,” said Gregory Della Franco, program director and assistant professor of accounting at Lee.
The 18-week course mirrors the two parts of the CMA exam, and emphasizes IMA’s CMA Learning System (CMALS), printed materials, online components, expertise of an instructor and the discipline of a classroom setting.
Part one, “Financial Planning, Performance and Control,” commences Wednesday, Sep. 12 from 6-9 p.m. in the Walker Memorial Building, meeting consecutive Wednesdays until Nov. 14. Part two, “Financial Decision Making,” begins Jan. 16, 2013, concluding April 3.
The cost for the course, including all course materials, is $1600; $1550 for IMA members; and $1500 for Lee alumni.
