The Lee University women’s soccer team is again hosting the Lee Classic and the annual Kickin’ it for Kids with Cancer event. The Classic is scheduled to begin on Thursday when Olivet Nazarene tangles with Vanguard followed by the Lady Flames testing always-powerful Lindsey Wilson College at 7:30 p.m.
The Kickin’ It benefit games are slated for Saturday as part of the Classic. Vanguard and Lindsey Wilson face off in the opener at 6 p.m., followed by the Lee and Olivet headliner at 7:30. The matches will be played at the Lee Soccer Field and all proceeds raised benefit the Austin Hatcher Foundation for pediatric cancer.
Last year the event raised more than $28,000 for the special cause and the Lady Flames hope to raise even more this time around. A number of local businesses joined the Lee team to promote the annual Classic and donate to the worthy cause.
