“I really like the makeup of this recruiting class,” said head coach Paul Furey. “They are good players, some who will help us right away, but they each bring a good work ethic and proper mindset to help us be successful. They are good students with an average ACT [score] of 24 and will fit nicely into the Lee campus community as quality young men as well as into our soccer program.”
Halsall hails from Manchester, England, where he played for the Manchester City Academy team. Halsall is a 6-foot-2 goalkeeper and should have an immediate impact on the squad.
Lyons is a central defender from Manchester, England, where he played club soccer for Chapel Town and Wilmslow Albion. Lyons is a fit and rugged defender who should help secure the Flames back line.
Finlay joins the Flames from Liverpool, England, where he plays club for Lower Breck Boy’s. Finlay will add depth to the Flames defense and is a solid student academically.
Jackson will join the Flames from Kingston, Jamaica, where he played for coach Ludlow Bernard at Wolmers’ High School. The speedy international can play as an outside back or as an attacking winger.
Kiger is an outside attacker from Mount Vernon, Ohio, who plays his club soccer with the Columbus Crew Academy. He earned a State Cup Championship with his former club, the Mount Vernon Sting.
Keeney is one of two goalkeepers in the recruiting class. The North Carolina All-State player won a state title with his high school, Wesleyan Christian Academy.
Smith is a 6-3 center back from Arizona where he played club for FC DeSol, one of the premier clubs in the state. Wes is an excellent student as well.
Womack is a local standout from Chattanooga Christian where he earned a state title during his four year stint on varsity. He played his most recent club soccer at East Ridge FC. Womack is a tenacious defender and outside flank.
Furey is the lone transfer in the group, having played his freshman year at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida. Furey will bring depth to the midfield with his year of collegiate experience.
