Lester F. Phillips, 77, a resident of Georgetown, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at the family residence.
He was a member of Durkee Road Church of God of Prophecy.
He enjoyed riding his Gold Wing motorcycle trike with family and friends. He was a former superintendent with Ruben H. Donnelly in the Research and Development Department.
He was the son of the late Dewey Phillips and Leathie Baugh Phillips. He was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Phillips.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shelby Phillips, of Georgetown; five children: Sharon Warren and husband, Clay, of Cleveland, Carolyn DeLaby and husband, David, of West End, N.C., Angie Harris of Cleveland, Robert Phillips and wife, Teresa, of Cleveland and Alan Phillips and wife, Donna, of Cleveland; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dewey Eugene Phillips and wife, Betty, of Somerset, Ky.; and one sister, Betty Lou Miles.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Brogdon officiating.
Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
His grandsons S. Lester Phillips, Eric Phillips, Ryan DeLaby, Greg Harris, Casey Phillips and Sam Phillips will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
