She was the daughter of the late Ruthie Jane Castello Petty and Will Allen Petty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Heil; daughter, Jeanette Heil; sister, Eva Alford; and her nephew, G.W. Alford.
She and her husband served as missionaries to Japan from 1952 to 1965. They also pastored in West Virginia on two separate occasions.
She worked for the Church of God World Missions for a number of years. She partnered with her husband for a number of years in the Primerica Financial Services company. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Leach and her husband, Terry, of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; son, Ron Heil and his wife, Diane, of Cleveland, her grandchildren; Chris Heil and his wife, Lori, missionaries to Brazil, Israel Heil of Cleveland, Ginger Sumerlin of Soddy-Daisy, Terry Leach II of Vacaville, Calif., and Daniel Leach and his wife, Kaili, of Leesburg, Va.; her great-grandchildren: Titus, Marcus, Cael, Fisher, Micah, Tate, Nickolas and Avery; her brothers: Allen Petty of North Carolina, Daniel Wayne Petty of Dallas, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, from the North Cleveland Church of God Dixon Chapel with Pastor Cy Harris officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Chris Heil, Israel Heil, Daniel Leach, Dwayne Petty, David Sumerlin and Donnie Heil serving as pallbearers.
A dove release will conclude the services.
The body may be viewed at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.
Because Mrs. Heil was a missionary at heart the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the mission organization of your choice in her memory.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes.
