Lewis P. Trammell Jr., 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 12, 2013, in a local hospital.

He was the son of the late Stella Mae Moore Trammell and Lewis P. Trammell Sr. His first wife, Nancy Boling Trammell, his infant sister and his brother, James Paul Trammell, also preceded him in death.

He was retired from Vulcan Materials with 45 years of service. He loved camping, gardening, woodworking and his cats! He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Priscilla May Scroggins Trammell; his daughters, Sandy Trammell, Cora Ruth Shope and her husband, David; his son, Ernie Lee Scroggins; his three granddaughters; his four great-granddaughters; his brothers, David Trammell and his wife, Nancy, Jerry Trammell and his wife Toni, Bill Trammell and his wife, Betty, Jack Trammell; his sister, Barbara Nelson and her husband, Virgil; his sister-in-law, Jane Trammell; his caregivers, Brenda and Robert; and nieces and nephews also survive.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Tuesday morning, Jan. 15, 2013, at 11 from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. Charles Moore and Bruce Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with David Powell, Danny Powell, James Powell, Larry Powell, James Droke and Cecil Harden serving as pallbearers. A dove release will conclude the services.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes which has charge of the arrangements.
