Currently, all our Bookmobile stops have been put on hold until this new vehicle is ready to go. The old Bookmobile is disabled and cannot be safely driven. The library will notify all regular stops as soon as a completion date has been set. The purchase of this Bookmobile was made possible by the Cleveland Bradley County Public Library Foundation.
The Friends of the Library Association will hold their next Book and Coffee series on Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. in the Craigmiles-Johnston House History Branch Library.
Joel W. Huffstetler, rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland, will review “To Trust and To Love” by Michael Mayne, dean of Westminster Abbey from 1986-96. Mayne wrote five best-selling books on spirituality. “To Trust and to Love” (London: Darton, Longman and Todd, 2010), is the first collection of Mayne’s previously unpublished sermons and addresses.
The Book and Coffee Series is open to the public. FOLA provides the coffee and the reviews generally last one hour. It is not necessary to have read the selection to enjoy the reviews.
FOLA is also interested in reaching out to local book clubs. If you are a member of a book club, please let us know about your group and give us a name for contact. At various times of the year, FOLA has activities that would benefit book clubs and a contact name would help us get the word out. Call 472-2163 and ask for Mary Ellen Stinchfield.
The Storytelling Guild will meet in the Cleveland Bradley Community Room Tuesday at 7 p.m. It is open to the public.
The library will be closed on Feb. 18 for staff development day. The History Branch Library will be closed on Sundays until March 6.
