Dollywood’s Penguin Players will be at our library May 16, 10:30 a.m. in the Community Room, to help celebrate Children’s Book Week 2014. This year’s new musical production, “Tony Buzzeo’s One Cool Friend,” brings us the delightful antics that result when young Elliot takes a penguin home from the aquarium.

“One Cool Friend” is a lively 20-minute production filled with sing-along songs, including music written especially for the Penguin Players by Dolly Parton. This will be fun for the whole family.

The Friends of the Library Association will host its Book and Coffee Series on May 16, with a review of Philip I. Nelson’s book, “LBJ, The Mastermind of the JFK Assassination.” Ann Cherry, FOLA member, will review the book at 10 a.m. at the Craigmiles-Johnston House History Branch Library. All are invited at attend this review.

Celebrate Maifest, May 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., as the library, Montessori Kinder and the Nancy Liebermann Foundation collaborate to bring the traditional German celebration of the arrival of spring to Cleveland. Join us for fun, food, games, entertainment and even live animals in celebrating the day to benefit educational goals in our community.

The library will be closed May 11 for Mother’s Day.
