This is last call for the class in Chinese which will begin Tuesday and run through Oct. 10 — each Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Carmichael House Conference Room. To register for this class, just call or stop by the Non-Fiction Desk anytime before Tuesday.

The summer reading programs are winding down, as the deadline for submitting your reading logs is July 31

The drawing for the adult program, “Groundbreaking Reads,” will be held Aug. 1 and winners will be notified by phone. There is time to get one more entry into the drawing by attending the last program of the season, “Mining: Environmental Impact and Remediation in the Basin Area by the Ducktown Basin Museum.”

There will be a documentary showing of “MINE” on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Community Room. This is the powerful story about the essential bond between humans and animals told against the backdrop of one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history.

Movie and game time on Wednesday will be showing “Land Before Time,” (rated G) at 2 p.m. with game time following until 6 p.m. This will be the last session of the summer.

“Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” will be shown at 4 p.m. on Thursday in the Community Room.
