Griffith is a retired major with the Cobb County (Ga.) Sheriff’s Office. His assignments over the following three decades included undercover narcotics, Atlanta DEA Task Force, fraud and fugitive investigations, commander of Internal Affairs and assistant division commander of Field Operations. He retired to devote his full attention to writing Grey Colson crime thrillers.
There will be an author Reception at 6 p.m. for $35 per person or $60 a couple. The Author Talk at 7:30 p.m. will be $5 or free with a student ID. A question/answer session and book signing will follow the Book Talk.
Movie Night at the library will be showing “Captain Phillips” (PG-13) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Community Room. “Captain Phillips” is based on the 2009 hijacking of the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama by a crew of Somali pirates. Join us for a viewing on the big screen.
Family Reading Night will be filled with spring-themed reads on March 24 at 6:30 p.m. The first 10 participants will receive a free book. This event is co-sponsored with the United Way of Bradley County.
The Scribblers Writing Club for Tweens and Teens will meet March 27 at 4:30 p.m. in the Children’s Activity Room.
Other activities for Teens this week include Book Talk, during which they will be discussing “Matched,” by Ally Condie, on March 25 at 4:30 p.m. in the Teen Zone.
After Hours for Teens, (ages 13 to 17) will be held March 29 at 7 p.m. The library is open for teens only to spend time discussing books, gaming, watching movies or all of the above.
