This change was necessary to accommodate the guest speaker, Mark Gimenez. Merchants Alley will begin at 10 a.m., with shopping continuing until 2 p.m. Reservations are still being accepted at the library. The cost for the luncheon is $35.
The Writing Workshop originally scheduled for Oct. 18 has been cancelled. The Meet the Author and Evening Talk with Book Signing are still planned. The Evening Talk will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Museum Center and tickets are $10 for Adults and $5 for students with ID. FOLA expressed its gratitude to all who helped to accommodate these changes and to the vendors of Merchant Alley who continue to support the library.
In keeping with the voting season, the Children’s Department is holding an election of your favorite picture book, chapter book or young adult book. Voting is taking place at the Children’s Department Desk and winners will be announced on Nov. 6. It is your right to vote.
Teens will meet today at 2 p.m. for a cookie exchange and book talk. Bring your favorite cookies and recipe to share and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate.
On Tuesday, TeenZone will show “The Hunger Games” movie in the TeenZone area at 6:15 p.m. Cupcake decorating will be held on the Thursday sponsored by the Village Bake Shop. Space is limited for this event. To sign up, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Donny Bailey Seagraves will speak to tweens, ages 8 to 13, and their parents today at 4:15 p.m. about her book and give tweens writing tips.
The Tween Lego club will be held on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the Community Room.
This will be the final meeting before the big Lego Weekend Nov. 3 and 4.
Tween Book Chatter will discuss “100 Year Old Secret” by Tracy Barrett Friday at 4:30 p.m.
