Library corner: ‘A Christmas Carol’ to be shown Wednesday, 7 p.m.

“Sounds of the Seasons” will continue with featured pianist Martha Lessig this week in the Community Room from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Enjoy a break at the public library while you sip on hot cider and enjoy wonderful Holiday Music. There is no charge for this event.

Teens will be meeting on Tuesday for the library’s Ornament Exchange, with Christmas caroling to follow.

Bring a creative or homemade ornament for this exchange. Snacks and hot chocolate will be served at this 4:30 p.m. gathering.

A “Christmas Carol” will be shown in the Community Room on Wednesday at 7 p.m. This free event is open to the public and popcorn will be served.

There will be a library tour on Thursday at 4 p.m., beginning in the lobby for those interested in seeing the behind-the-scene places and learning the history of the library. The tour lasts about 45 minutes.

Children will have the opportunity to read to some canine friends — Chelsea, Wendy and Tux — on Dec. 29 from 6 until 7 p.m. during K9 Story Time.

Meet in the Children’s Room to participate in this program that gives children a chance to practice reading aloud to K9 listeners.

The library will be closed on Dec. 24, 25 and 26 in observance of the Christmas holidays.

The library will close early on Dec. 31 at 6 p.m. and then be closed on Jan. 1, 2013, for New Year’s Day.
