Linda Viola Quarles Housley, of Ooltewah, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 13, 2013, at the age of 58, surrounded by her loving and caring family after an eight-year battle with cancer.

She and her husband were the owners of Chattanooga Propane at the time of her passing. She was the former owner of Maxi Muffler in Cleveland. In addition, she had worked at SunTrust Bank for more than 10 years.

She was a 1972 graduate of Central High School. She was a lifetime member of Oakwood Baptist Church of Chattanooga.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fayne B. Quarles.

She lived a wonderful life enjoying many great times with her family. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her loving grandchildren. They all enjoyed spending time in her cabin in the foothills of Gatlinburg. She would sit for hours on the back porch watching the beautiful water flow and nature around her.

Those left to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 40 years, Doyle M. Housley Jr.; two daughters, Sheila Housley Wilson and Tiffany (Tony) Smith. The love and light of her life, her three beautiful grandchildren: Ian Smith, Mia Smith, and Andrew Wilson, all of Ooltewah; her mother, Ina Ruth Quarles; her three sisters: Wanda (David) Jernigan, Janet Quarles, and Connie (Tracy) Pruitt; several nieces and nephews, all of Chattanooga; and her faithful dog, Ginger, who stayed by her side through her illness.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, and one hour prior to funeral service on Thursday.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga TN, with the Rev. Ken Clark officiating. Burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Steven Jernigan, Collin Jernigan, John Test, Deward Neal, Tracy Pruitt and Joe McKinney.

A special appreciation to Avalon Hospice, Dr. Alex Stock, and Keisha Goodwin, RN for providing Linda with the best care.
