Liza Loraine Childs, 68, left her earthly home and awoke in glory on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late Roxie Hutson Childs and Creed Childs.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mossie Childs Caldwell; and nephew, Andrew Lee Childs.

She was born Feb. 10, 1945, in the Cotula community in Campbell County. She resided in Birchwood for 58 years.

She was a creative quilt maker doing her own patterns, and stitching with love every quilt by hand. Her flowers thrilled her heart as they bloomed. She loved God and her family and she had a heart of gold for everyone she met. She was a member of Burdette Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sister, Maggie Murray and her husband, James, of Birchwood; brothers: Edgar Childs and his wife, Patsy, of Georgetown and Sam Childs and his wife, Teresa, of Georgetown. She was never blessed with children of her own but her nieces and nephews were her children: Billie Murray of Birchwood, Anthony Caldwell and Mark Caldwell, both of Decatur, Mike Childs and Adam Childs, both of Georgetown, Melina Partin of Ooltewah and Angie Ferguson of Georgetown; a great-niece; and several great-nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 8 this evening, Sept. 17, 2013, at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. David Evans and Daniel White officiating.

Interment with graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in McInturf Cemetery with Anthony Caldwell, Mark Caldwell, David Carter, Mike Childs, Adam Childs and Spencer Childs serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the service time at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
