Bryant’s Cleaning Service, a business that was founded in Cleveland 23 years ago, recently honored two of its employees for their years of service.

Owner Tim Bryant recognized longtime employees Angela Willis and Marvin Pineda with plaques at the Bradley County Mayor’s office on Friday.

The company offers cleaning contract services to businesses and manufacturing plants. Since its founding in 1990, it has expanded to the Nashville area, opening an office in Murfreesboro.

Willis was recognized for her 20 years with the company and promoted to general manager of the Cleveland office.

Bryant said Willis first worked in Murfreesboro, but was so impressed by her work ethic there that he decided to offer her a job with him in Cleveland.

“Every day I would go there, and she was there working hard,” Bryant said. “I couldn’t help but hire her seeing her dedication.”

Pineda was honored for being with the company for 10 years. He has worked on temporary contracts out of state, such as one in Minneapolis, Minn. working with the General Mills and Pillsbury food manufacturing facilities. A Murfreesboro native, he has also worked at the Bryant’s Cleaning Service office in his hometown.

Willis and Bryant are both Cleveland natives who said they were glad to be able to do business in their hometown.

Bradley County Mayor D. Gary Davis said the county contracts with the cleaning service to keep the Bradley County Courthouse and the Bradley County Courthouse Annex clean.

“They really do a great job,” Davis said.

Some of the company’s larger clients include the Cormetech manufacturing plant in Cleveland and the Heritage Farms Dairy in Murfreesboro, which makes products like milk and cheese for the Kroger grocery store chain.

Bryant said he was thankful for the support he and his company have seen throughout the years and attributed that support to the company being able to expand as it has.

In addition to his employees, he offered thanks to his wife of 33 years, Beatrice, his parents, Charles and Beatrice Swafford; his personal mentor, Cleveland Vice Mayor Avery Johnson, and Davis.

He also credits John Watson, a former Cleveland grocery store owner, who gave him his first cleaning job after returning home from serving in the military.
