Local gym wins regional cheerleading competition
On Saturday, at the Spirit Brands Racoon Challenge, Pride Athletics Cheerleading of Cleveland won first place in four divisions and grand champion in Youth Level Two. The regional annual competition held at Camp Jordan showcased 40 teams coming from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky. Pride Athletics had four teams for a total of more than 50 girls competing. Each Pride team placed first in their division with the Youth Level Two squad bringing home the highest overall score. Coach Bill Reid stated, “A great way to end a season, first place and grand champions. Our squads are hard-working and tough; it was awesome to see their work rewarded.” Pride Athletics’ Cheerleading has been in business for 8 years in the Cleveland area and is currently located inside Bradley Square Mall by Kmart.
