George, who signed with Middle Tennessee State University and is a recent Walker Valley graduate, opened up the three-day event with an 8-over 80. She battled back in her second day of action, shooting a 77 to put her at 13-over going into the final round.
Saturday saw George start her final round with a double bogey and finish with a birdie to score a second straight 77 and put her at 18-over for the tournament.
A combined 234 was good enough for a 33rd place finish out of the 97-golfer field.
Rachel Ingram, a former Lee University golfer, kicked off her tournament play with an opening round 77. She shaved off a stroke in the second round, shooting a 76 to put her 9-over going into Saturday’s play.
The final round was not kind to Ingram, who shot a 10-over 82 to put her at 235 and tied for 35th place overall.
Lydia Triplett, who will be a Polk County High School senior this year, failed to make the cut for the final day of play after posting an 89 and 83 receptively in her first and second rounds.
Amateur Lauren Stratton walked away with the championship. She shot a first round 69, a second round 70 and a third round 72 to steal the lead from Altadena, Calif.’s Mo Martin, who finished second with a 212 overall.
