Louis Ralph Garrett, 75, a resident of Athens, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, in an Athens hospital.

He was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith. He was a truck driver for many years. He was a staff sergeant with the United States Army serving two tours in Vietnam with 14 years of service.

He was the son of the late Ralph D. Garrett and June Pedan Garrett. He was also preceded in death by his brother, David Garrett.

Survivors include his wife of 491⁄2 years, Nancy Garrett of Athens; son, Johnny Garrett of High Point, N.C.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers: Terry Garrett of Athens and Arthur Garrett of Melbourne, Fla.; sister, Judith Ford of Westerville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no service at this time.
