Louise Guinn, 85, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, in a local health care facility.
She worked for the Cleveland City School system for more than 20 years. She was happiest when she was serving and helping others, whether it was cooking for the school children or her family or volunteering at The Caring Place.
She and her husband traveled and lived all over the United States in their younger years. She enjoyed sharing stories of their time and travels together. She enjoyed working in her yard, traveling and spending time with her family.
She was a devoted and proud mother to her two sons as well as a wonderful daughter, grandmother, sister, wife and friend. She lived a long and happy life and leaves behind an enduring legacy of love for her family. She will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Guinn; her parents, Elbert and Inez Hamilton; two brothers: Casper Hamilton and Bobby Hamilton; and sister, Bonnie Hamilton.
Survivors include her sons: Jeff (Pam) Guinn and Mitchell (Anne) Guinn; five grandchildren: Emily Deaton, Andrew Guinn, Chelsea Guinn, Heath Chamberlin and Chase Guinn; two great-grandchildren: Baker and Jackson; sisters: Faye Wooden, (Arnold) of Cumming, Ga., and Carolyn Hamilton of Alpharetta, Ga.; as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom were very special to her.
A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. today, Sept. 26, 2013, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Cleveland was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Caring Place of Cleveland, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
